Vintage Porcelain Japanese Plate. This hand painted porcelain plate features Kannon and 6 Rakans surrounding her. The circle with the cross above Kannon's head is the mon of the Shimazu family crest. This plate is marked in Japanese. I can make out the words "dai Nippon" but that is it. There is another mark there I am not familiar with. The plate is of Satsuma style. It has heavy raised enamel paint and some moriage. The plate has a rattan or wicker holder around it. The whole plate measures approx. 9". It is in good condition with no chips or cracks. There is wear to the design and some wear to the holder around the plate.
