The Vintage Shelf: Trinket Boxes

    Trinket boxes are just little boxes or containers to hold trinkets and/or other tiny objects.  You can use a trinket box to hold your jewelry, small mementos, pins and needles, paper clips and maybe even small pieces of candy.  

   Trinket boxes can also be called decorative boxes, ring boxes, jewelry boxes, or even gift boxes.  They can be made of porcelain, soapstone, alabaster, glass, wood and cardboard.  They come in a vast variety of shapes, with different decorations, for different occasions.

Vintage Jasperware Trinket Box. This is a small blue jasperware style trinket box. It features a white house and tree on the lid. It is a lighter blue than what is showing in the pictures. There is a floral design around the sides of the box. It sits on 4 legs. There is a sticker on the bottom which says made in Japan. The box is approx. 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" x 1 5/8". There is some wear and aging and slight staining to the box. There is also a small hole and crack in the white design on the top.
